# Choose who pays the service fee

## Decide if participants pay the service fee when they register, or if you absorb it.

### Good to know

- The service fee is a fixed fee charged for each registration.
- **Absorb Service Fee** off: participants pay the service fee when they register.
- **Absorb Service Fee** on: you pay the service fee, as a fixed commission on all registrations.
- The setting is made per currency.

### Change the setting

1\. In Pace Admin, click **Finance & Billing** and open **Payment Information & currencies**.

2\. Find your currency. **Service fee** shows the fee per registration. Click **Edit bank details**.

3\. Switch **Absorb Service Fee** on or off and click **Submit**.

### Tips

- The **Absorb** column under **Race Commissions** shows the setting for each race. **Inherited by organizer** means the race follows your setting.
- Service fees charged to you show up in your financial reports. Read [Financial reports, reconciliations and payments](https://support.raceid.com/financial-reports-reconciliations-och-payments-from-raceid?hsLang=en).
