Learn how to turn on the RaceID Spectate feature for your race so participants can be followed by friends and family in the RaceID App.
1. Go to RaceID Admin and your Distance Settings
2. Go to "Additional Options" and turn on "Split Times"
3. Split Times and Distance Route will show up in the menu like this:
4. Go to Split Times and add any split times if you want. If you are not using the RaceID Timing App, you can skip this step.
5. Go to the Distance route and upload a GPX file of your race. If you don't have one, you can either run the route with a training watch and download the route from your training app (Garmin, Strava etc) or you can plot out the race route on Google Maps and then convert it into a GPX file.
6. Once you have uploaded the gpx file, you will get a preview of your course. Make sure the box below the image is ticked:
7. Save and exit. Now participants will be able to follow racers in the RaceID App on Race Day. Make sure to communicate this feature to them and be clear that:
- They need to download the RaceID App
- They need to follow each other
- The racer needs to go into the app and share their position before they start the race.
- This feature only works on iOS devices (for now).
